LECTURER
PLANT SYSTEMATICS
DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
The Department of Botany has an active research group in plant
systematics, an excellent herbarium with over 300 000 specimens, and a
good library. Facilities are available for anatomical, morphological
and molecular research. The University attracts good post-graduate
students from the whole continent and support for research is
available.
We invite applications for this tenure-track lecturing post as a Plant
Systematist which carries both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
commitments. As the successful applicant, you will have a PhD in
plant systematics together with teaching experience, a good track
record as a researcher and experience in molecular systematics and
plant taxonomy. Experience of higher plant groups characteristic of
the Cape Floristic Region would be an additional asset.
The remuneration package, including benefits, is negotiable between
R153 832 - R192 290 a year.
