I believe the post was correctly stated.  It is not a question of guts.  There are reasons not to go accusing a person by name on a world-wide medium.  Postings to this or most other lists are not proctored or vetted for accuracy before they appear.  The named person may not be on the list to rebut an accusation or explain his or her position.  And there are liability issues for the poster as well.  A reader who actually needs to know the identity of the unidentified party is free to contact the original poster for more details, off-list.
