Dear list-members,

I am currently working on sessile rotifers and I have a problem concerning
their ability to retract their head when disturbed. I need extended
specimen for fixation and I am therefore searching for a method to
anaesthetize the animals, which prevents their contraction reflex. Common
methods like alcohol, Na2S2O4 (sodium di-thionid) and C3H5NO (acryl amide)
have not yielded satisfactory results. I would greatly appreciate any idea
or comment concerning this problem.
