Specimen databases/barcoding specimens

Colleagues,
I'm joining this debate late due to annual leave.

The University of Reading Herbarium (RNG) successfully
uses BRAHMS (www.brahms.co.uk) to manage its collections.

We also provide WWW access to our collections through our
herbarium webserver.

Recently we have introduced barcoding of specimens which
are a handled well by BRAHMS, and with version 5 of the
software we can generate herbarium labels including barcodes.
This is achieved by the use of a barcode TrueType Font which
is readily available.
