The Department of Biology of the University of Saskatchewan invites
candidates to apply for the two tenure-track positions described below.


AQUATIC BOTANIST

        The Department invites applications for a position at the Assistant
Professor level for a tenure-track position commencing July 1, 2001 in the
area of aquatic botany.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. and preferably
teaching and postdoctoral experience.  The successful candidate must have a
demonstrated research interest in primary productivity in aquatic systems,
and in environmental impacts on prairie and/or northern lakes and wetlands.
 Excellent opportunities exist for research collaboration with personnel of
the National Water Research Institute of Environment Canada, Northern
Ecosystem Toxicology Initiatives (NETI) and other laboratories on campus.
The candidate will participate in teaching programs of the Department,
including the algal component of a second-year undergraduate course in
lower organisms, as well as develop an upper-level course in their area of
expertise.

         The University of Saskatchewan is committed to employment equity.

INSECT OR INVERTEBRATE PHYSIOLOGIST

        The Department invites applications for a position at the Assistant
Professor level for a tenure-track position commencing July 1, 2001 in the
area of insect or invertebrate physiology.  Applicants should have a Ph.D.
and preferably teaching and postdoctoral experience.  The successful
candidate will participate in the teaching program of the Department, with
specific responsibility in the area of insect or invertebrate physiology.
The successful applicant is expected to develop a dynamic research program
and interact on projects that complement current strengths within the
Department and on campus.
