The International Working Group on Taxonomic Databases for Plant Sciences
(TDWG) has investigated the problem and has endorsed Authors of Plant Names
by Brummitt and Powell as standard for the citation of authors of plant
names. Most people are now following this widely available (and now
electronic) source. The new Euro+Med project sponsored by the European
Union to produce a plant information system for Europe, the Mediterranean
and Macaronesia certainly will.  Please refer to www.tdwg.org - and why not
