<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/bryo/bry3.html> )

Newly posted families in the NYBG North American Bryophyte Catalog include:
Funariaceae <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/bryo/Funariaceae.html> (3419
records), Gigaspermaceae
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/bryo/Gigaspermaceae.html> (1 record),
Grimmiaceae <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/bryo/Grimmiaceae.html> (8875
records) and Pottiaceae <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/bryo/Pottiaceae.html>
(12907 records).

The total number of records now available for searching in the North
American Bryophyte Catalog is approximately 157,000. This number includes
all hepatics and anthocerotes from the entire flora area (U.S., Canada and
Greenland), and all mosses from Canada, Alaska, and Greenland.
Current cataloging efforts are focused on Tetraphidaceae, Polytrichaceae,
Bryaceae, Timmiaceae and Mniaceae. We anticipate that these families will
be added to the on-line catalog in the fall of 2000.
The NYBG North American Bryophyte Catalog project has been supported in part
by the National Science Foundation since 1997. We anticipate that the
catalog will be completed in 2001. We then hope focus our bryophyte
cataloging efforts on specimens from the West Indies and Central America
