 Announcing the Temporary Closure of the Aquatic Invertebrates Collections
at the Hebrew University



The Collection of  Aquatic Invertebrates of the Hebrew University which
contains among others  the most important collections of  the Eastern
Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Jordan-Dead Sea rift system  as well as
many hundreds of type specimens, is   temporarily suspending its services to
the public.
The suspension follows the retirement of the curator Dr.Nechama Ben-Eliahu
and the failure of appointing a replacement.  I sincerely hope that this
inconvenience will be a temporary one and that we shall be able to fulfill
again our obligations towards the scientific community   well before the end
of 2000.
