If I thought that there were some seriousness here, I would reply
accordingly. Give thought, for a moment, about the significance of
skeeters, as larvae, in the food chain as food for predatory aquatic insects
(dragonfly larvae, notonectids) and as adults as food for birds (swallows,
flycatchers) and dragonflies.
In the Arctic, it was often sheer delight to be able to turn one's face into
a gentle, or better, a stiff breeze, so that all the skeeters were now
behind, and you could open your mouth and breathe deeply without sucking a
few in.

Subject: are mosquitoes useful ?

Of course this is the question everybody asks - and SO WHAT if we just
eliminate them ?

What can we say about that, including of course philosophical responses ?

Thanks,

Scott Rawdin
