Wisconsin Vascular Plants site

The staff of the Wisconsin State Herbarium (WIS) - University of
Wisconsin-Madison is pleased to announce that Wisconsin Vascular Plants
site is now available at http://wiscinfo.doit.wisc.edu/herbarium/. This
site list the 2,436 native and 792 introduced vascular plant taxa (species
and infraspecific taxa) documented for Wisconsin. For each taxon, status,
synonyms (if any), detailed distribution maps (944 taxa to date), and
images (2730 representing 1570 taxa to date) are presented. Additional
information, such as protection category as defined by the Bureau of
Endangered Resources, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; habitat
information; and information on ecologically invasive taxa are included
where appropriate.  The site is searchable by scientific name, habitat,
status, and common name.

Additional photographs and maps will be posted, as they become available.
Links to other on-line sources for Wisconsin biological and ecological data
are included.
