Subject: Vascular Plant Type Specimen Images -- Update

The Vascular Plant Type Specimen Catalog at The New York Botanical Garden
has just been updated with additional high-resolution specimen images of
Cucurbitaceae <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Cucurbitaceae.html> and
Scrophulariaceae <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Scrophulariaceae.html>
. These, plus images of Annonaceae
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Annonaceae.html> , Cyperaceae
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Cyperaceae.html> , Elaphoglossum
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Pteridophyte.html> , Ericaceae
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Ericaceae.html> , Lecythidaceae
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Lecythidaceae.html> , and New World
Rutaceae <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/Rutaceae.html> can be found by
searching the vascular plant type catalog
<http://scisun.nybg.org:8890/searchdb/owa/wwwspecimen.searchform> or by
viewing taxa lists <http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/vasc/> . The catalog now
contains over 6,500 images and approximately 68,000 vascular plant type
specimen records.

The Garden's seven other phanerogamic and six cryptogamic specimen catalogs
can be accessed through the general Herbarium Specimen Catalog
<http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/> . Images are also available for selected
type specimens of Sphagnum (e.g., Sphagnum harperi).
