I read in PC Magazine, which has many reviews of digital cameras, that the
LCD window is "invisible" out of doors (masked by reflection on incident
light, I expect), and you need an optical lens viewfinder. Check for a
through-the-lens optical viewfinder if you are going to take out of doors
pictures. I _don't_ know if one exists for a digital camera, though.
