digital cameras

It depends what you mean by field work....if you stay close to a trailer
full of diskettes and batteries, great....but you really cannot get very
far afield.  I tried a Nikon last year and even with a belt-mounted power
pack it was just too hungry for any time out in the woods.  Maybe something
has changed in the last year....any comments.
