There is of course a vast amount of literature on this subject. A recent
publication is Morley, R.J. (2000) Origin and evolution of tropical rain
forests. ISBN 0-471-98326-8, which will answer many of your questions.

Also, try to get hold of Van Steenis, "On the origin of the Malaysian
mountain flora", Bull. Jard. Bot. Buitenzorg III, 13/2 (1934) 135--262,
13/3  (1935) 289--417, 14/1 (1936) 56--72.

Although Gondwanaland is probably not mentioned in it, it is still one of
the best comprehensive discussion I know.
