Hallo to all the taxacomers,
I am a phytochemist and, at present, I am studing some species of the genus
Centaurea. I would like to know if you know any Centaurea species that do
NOT produce sesquiterpene lactones. Moreover, from the evolutionary point
of view, are the sesquiterpene lactones more advanced than flavonoids? In
other words, are sesquiterpene lactones biosynthetized later in evoluted
plants?

Thank you for your attention,
Guido
