Karl M. Waage died on Monday, October 18. He was 83. From 1946 - 1986 he
was Professor of Geology and Geophysics, Yale University, and Curator of
Invertebrate Paleontology at the Peabody Museum of Natural History. He
served as chair of the Geology Department from 1973 to 1976 and Director of
the Peabody Museum from 1979 to 1982. He is survived by his wife Betty and
two sons, Jonathan and Jeffrey. A memorial service is being planned and
will be announced accordingly. Betty has asked that donations in Karl's
memory be sent to Connecticut Hospice (61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405)
in lieu of flowers.
