Hello All
I am new to the list.
I am working on developing lists to post on the web. I have a list of birds
of Kern County California and as well as Birds of the Kern River Parkway
(Bakersfield) and the Kern River Valley (Lake Isabella) posted on the list
that should be current to AOU standards.

My current project is researching the status and distribution of Kern county
mammals.

I would appreciate assistance of any systematic mammalogists with current
ideas on classification. I am using Walker's Mammals of the World as the
basis of the ordering of species and I have taken references from J.
Mammalogy for some recent challenges on classification. I have also used
Hall '81 for subspecies epithets. If anyone knows of better sources for
information or has done studies themselves, I would appreciate a note.
I have posted the unfinished document on one of my web pages. To view the
initial results go to - http://frontpage.lightspeed.net/alison1/mammals.htm

Thanks in advance.
Ali
