Rodentiformes

    I made an error in my earlier post.  Order Rodentiformes is my
emendation for Rodentia.  Since most chordate orders already used the
-iformes suffix, I chose to use that ending for Chordata, and the -ida
suffix for the invertebrate phyla (following the Treatise on Invertebrate
Paleontology).

P.S.  If rodents are ever split up into two orders, does anyone have
objections to typified names in this case (such as Sciuriformes and
Caviiformes?).  Other suggestions (perhaps some would prefer Rattiformes to
Sciuriformes)?
