Exist genuses?

Keep in mind that one of the standard ways people write in the
Acknowledgements section of a paper is "I would like to thank so and so
for...". This is bad. Either you do want to thank the person, or you do
not. If you do, then write, "I thank so and so for...". Be up front when
you say it. "Would" is a wimpy word that detracts from any nice things you
want to say about someone.
