NATIONAAL HERBARIUM NEDERLAND
Universiteit Utrecht

The National Herbarium of the Netherlands is an interuniversity institute of
the Universities of Leiden, Utrecht and Wageningen with a collection of
over 5.5 million specimens of phanerogams and cryptogams from the Paleo- and
Neotropics and Europe. The research programme is aimed at floristic,
taxonomic, phylogenetic, and biogeographic studies and biodiversity
assessments. There are excellent facilities for taxonomic, morphological,
anatomical and ultrastructural research. Currently molecular facilities are
being expanded and molecular analyses are increasingly integrated in the
systematic research projects.

The Utrecht branch of The National Herbarium has strong links with the
Utrecht University, Faculty of Biology, a modern faculty with disciplines
covering nearly the complete field of biology. Both research and education
are of high standard. Fundamental scientific research that challenges the
boundaries of science, of which the results can often be applied, is of
special interest.

We invite applications for the position of a

Post Doctoral Fellow in Molecular Plant Systematics
vacancy number: 66933.

experience with modern techniques in molecular analysis such as PCR, AFLP,
RFLP, and DNA sequencing and phylogenetic interpretation of molecular data,
and a good publication record.

group, preferably in the plant family Annonaceae fitting the research
