Confusing names (2)

The list of 'triplicated' generic names that I remember was sent by John McNeill
back in September 1996. It listed 7 such names but said that there another 5
like them except that botanical name was no longer current. I have a print-out
of that message, but John may still have it electronically (or does the TAXACOM
archive go back that far??)

We maintain a taxonomy database at the NCBI,
for the organism names that are found in the various sequence databases.
Over the past eight years we have come across many examples of duplicated names
- I have appended a list of 87 duplicates below....
