Exist sub-species?????

I don't know any examples of subspecies but the defenition I have is:
"Populations of the same species in different geographic locations, with
one or more distinguishing traits" (Price, P.W. 1996. _Biological
Evolution_, pg428).
>From reading in the above book, the suggestion seems to be that as
geographic isolation begins and acquisition of genetic differences also
begins the term "subspecies" is used. Under secondary contact prior to,
but followed by complete isolation the term for the two species is then
"semispecies" (the Wallace effect) (pg 314).
