I don't know what's up with MacClade but, for what it's worth, an editor
at Yale Press tells me that Amazon gets a 40% discount from publishers.
This is a far bigger discount than most booksellers or dealers get, and
the difference comes out of the publishers' profits and authors' pockets.

So when the book you want is in press and you can find the publisher on
the Internet (Sinauer is on the Internet), please buy directly from the
publisher.  Especially when it's a technical book from a small publisher;
profit margins are small enough for these specialty publishers, without
Amazon taking such a huge cut.
