Microbial Culture Collections

Dear APBioNet-ters,

Thank you very much for your support to the WDCM symposium of
"Microbial Resources Centers in 21st Century: New Paradigms"
on 16 FERB 1999. There were 131 participants from 17 countries.

In "Science 26 FEB 1999 VOL283 pp.1240-1241", you could find an article
titled "Culture Collections Seek Global Help" which was written based on
discussions in the WDCM symposium and the OECD workshop.

It seems that we in Tokyo meetings could increase public
awareness to "unseen" organisms and their collectors/holders/
distributors.
