Fellow Taxacomers,

Dr. Don McAlpine has been reinstated as Curator of Zoology at the New
Brunswick Museum in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

It has been announced that the NB Museum Board has rescinded their late
January decision to force Dr. McAlpine's resignation in the face of the
widespread disbelief and outrage that descended upon them. Don received
tremendous support from the scientific community in Canada and abroad. =
In
addition, the general public took an interest in the fate of a high =
profile
scientist who was generous with his time and worked to broaden the =
Museum's
base of support in the community. It took eight weeks, but the Museum =
board
has listened and reinstated him.

I expect they were eight very long weeks of hell and uncertainty for =
Don and
his family.

It might be appropriate to contact the main players (listed below) to
support the NB Museum's action to reinstate Dr. McAlpine:
