The number will, of course, depend on one's species concept. In many
agamospermic groups, most workers conclude that the only way in which
the species rank can usefully be applied is to a single agamic clone; if
this is your species concept, I am sure there are many endemic species
in _Taraxacum_, _Hieracium_ etc. John McNeill.

Dear taxacomers,
Would anyone be able to provide me with some further information
regarding species numbers. More specifically, the number of endemic
plant species to Great Britian. I have obtained a figure of 1! Is
this correct.
