Taxacomers,
Sorry this is somewhat off-topic, but I wonder if anyone who
uses one of the later versions of Word Perfect has learned how
to defeat the automatic capitalization of the letter that
follows a period, thereby persistantly capitalizing the
specific epithet that follows an abbreviated generic name.
This is clearly designed for typists who use periods only to
end sentences, but it means that if I want to abbreviate the
generic name of my favorite Rana, I'm forced to type "R.
Ppipiens", and then go back and delete the capital "P". This
procedure is bad for my blood pressure, and if anyone has
learned how to defeat this, it might be a benefit to many
People who write species' names.
