     Updated information for 1300 herbaria in 85 countries listed in INDEX
     HERBARIORUM, edition 8, and its supplements (published in TAXON) is
     available for searching by institution, city, state, acronym, staff
     member, correspondent, and research specialty
     (http://www.nybg.org/bsci/ih/ih.html).
     Telephone and fax numbers and e-mail and URL addresses are included.

     Note that the Index is fully searchable on research specialty, so it
     also serves as a PLANT SPECIALISTS INDEX.

     Updated information is available for more than half of the herbaria in
     the following countries:
     Alderney, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Barbados,
     Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana,
     Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Canada,
     Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica,
     Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, Fiji, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guam,
     Guatemala, Guernsey, Guyana, Iceland, Iran, Isle of Man, Jamaica,
     Jersey, Korea (South), Lebanon, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mexico,
     Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico, Singapore,
     Suriname, Swaziland, Trinidad, Uruguay, U.S.A., Venezuela, and Virgin

     Updated information is available for less than half of the herbaria in
     the following countries:
     Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Ethiopia,
     Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland,
     Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malaysia, Myanmar, New
     Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, and U.K.

     Updated information has not yet been requested from herbaria in 37
     countries listed in INDEX HERBARIORUM, edition 8.  Additional
     countries will be available in the next file update.
