The great, the glorious, the Stipeae

Surrey Jacobs and I are interested in contacting anyone interested in
participating in a working group focussed on the Stipeae.  Some of the
initial goals for the group would be to agree on a core group of
characteristics to be examined in its species, another to identify critical
taxa for the tribe as a whole, and another to consider the kinds of data to
be obtained.  Please contact me directly if you are interested - and feel
free to pass this request on to anyone else that you think might be
interested.  We are trying to set up a meeting in Logan after the Congress,
with the journey from St. Louis to Logan being a field trip to look at
native North American members of the tribe.  This weekend I shall post an
announcement about the planned field trip and workshop to
