>What is 'wrong' with Mayr and Ashlock Principals of Systematic Zoology?
>Ed.
I use portions of Mayr & Aslock's in my systematics courses, for instance
chapter 4 (intrapopulational variation), chapter 7 (taxonomic characters),
chapter 8 (phenetics), and chapter 10 (evolutionary classification). I
especially think chapters 12-14 are rather useful (collections,
publications, and zoological nomenclature). Treatment of species is a little
on the BSC side and this might not be the best book to learn about
cladistics.
