Ancient DNA in Amber

Dear taxonomists,

There are several works about the amplification of ancient DNA from amber.
They were made, principally, in the AMNH, by DeSalle, Grimaldi etc.

On the other hand, there is a group of critics, localized at the Natural
History Museum, London. They say that it is all very difficult, irreproducible
and so on.

Unfortunately, I still did not read all the original works.
So, I am looking for some educated opinions about this "DNA-in-Amber-Story".

Does it make sense? And how reproducible are such invesitgations?

            greetings Thomas
