There was nothing wrong with Diana providing the reference.  But, given
that many are in places where libraries are quite distant, or where this
reference is not on the shelves (as may be the case for the one posing the
query), it would have been nice to have at least a brief definition of the
term.  I, too, have never encountered this term and am curious to know
what it means.
