The question is not the re-use of somebody else's images - it's the use of
images YOU have taken of somebody else's specimens. This has been discussed
here at length already, prompted by the Natural History Museum reported as
requiring borrowers of specimens to sign over copyright of any photographic
images they make of these specimens to the Museum.

I wonder if this also applies to hand-drawn illustrations of those same
specimens (particularly primary types). The distinction is one of technique
only.
