I'm looking for a resource, internet or otherwise, that will help me
introduce students to bioinformatics, molecular sequence databases, etc.,
for use in systematic biology. I would like to design an exercise which
will show students how to use these resources.
First I need to learn about them for myself!
Any help appreciated. I do know about Edvotek kit #340, which deals with
some of this information but from the viewpoint of converting DNA sequence
information to gene products. However, I want to get at this from a
systematics point of view; i.e. constructing phylogenies (simple ones),
etc.
