Dear all,
On several desert sites North of Aqaba, Jordan, I encountered a strange,
fast running insect two weeks ago. I am not a specialist as far as most
insect groups is concerned and I could not identify it.
To me, this wonderful creature superficially resembles Psocoptera, but
giant: about an inch long, with long legs. The animal admirably imitates
the pink, black spotted granitic substrate of the desert. It has big
eyes and medium sized (1.5 cm), simple antennae. Can anyone tell me what
it might be?
Thanks,
Jan
