Plant Press Rivets

Can anyone tell me what kind of company (or an actual company!) would put
rivets in plant presses? I have checked in local hardware stores and they
don't have any that are quite long enough (they need to be about 5/8"; the
longest I have been able to find are 1/2"). I've been told that pop rivets
would not be suitable. In the presses that one buys from herbarium supply
companies, the rivets are one of two standard types (one copper with a
"head" ca. 3/16" diametre; the other brass with a "head" ca. 1/4"
diametre). Everywhere I go, they tell me that these rivets must have been
done by some special machine -- but no one seems to know a company that has
such a machine.

Thanks!
