Systematics And Zoogeography of the Genus Lophoglossus Leconte  (Carabidae:
Pterostichini)

ABSTRACT
 A phylogenetic hypothesis for the genus Lophoglossus LeConte is developed
based on the results of a cladistic analysis using 21 characters from  adult
morphology of the six species in the genus. Three species groups are
designated
and cladistic diagnoses and descriptive notes are presented. A key to species
and notes on biology, distribution and phenology are provided. A
zoogeographical scenario is developed based on the cladistic relationships and
distributions of the species.
