A 3-year graduate research assistantship is available in the Gulf Coast
Research Laboratory Museum as part of the University of Southern
Mississippi's Department of Coastal Sciences Ph.D. program. The

limited to the use of early life history stages in studies of the
systematics and taxonomy of Gulf of Mexico fishes.
Funding for this assistantship is provided as part of a grant to the
GCRL Museum from the National Science Foundation entitled "Improvement
of
the GCRL/USM Ichthyological Collection."
Applicants would be expected to complete all entrance requirements of
the of the USM Graduate School and its newly created and rapidly growing
Department of Coastal Sciences.
Further information concerning this assistantship can be obtained via
the GCRL Museum website (http://www.ims.usm.edu/~musweb/index.html)
under "Job Opportunities" (http://www.ims.usm.edu/~musweb/student.html)
or by contacting me directly.
Professional colleagues are urged to disseminate the announcement of the
availability of this opportunity to prospective students as widely and
as expeditiously as possible.
