Biologist whimsy which may not have expected a wider audience beyond
a circle of friends, but escaped into journals nevertheless. I have two
recent examples of the genre:
Banse,K (1990): Mermaids - Their biology, culture, and demise. Limnol.
Oceanogr. 35(1), 148-153.
Reid,Robert (1998): Mass stranding of horseshoe crabs. Underwater
Naturalist 24(2), 22-26.
Perhaps as rare as mermaids, but can taxacomers give me some others?
:-)
