Gammaridea (Crustacea) in NE America

Scuds (Gammarus spp.) are common intertidal organisms.  That is
why I was a little surprised to see how difficult is to find information
about that group (well, I am botanist but my job is also, since last
year, to teach invertebrate zoology).  I would greatly appreciate a
few hints about the taxonomic frame of that group and its biology in
my area.
