A very simple way to solve the fascinating problem of the starting day
of the 3rd millenium would be to get rid of year 2000 altogether (the
day after December 31, 1999 would be January 1, 2001). After all, there
was no year O either.

Think of the big bonus: all these stupids programs and festivities
called Som=F9ething-Or-Other 2000 would disappear overnight.=20
