The New York Botanical Garden has recently updated our on-line
specimen catalog from a WAIS-based search method to an SQL-based
system. The user interface has been completely re-designed to make
the catalog more users-friendly and efficient. We hope you will visit
the site (http://www.nybg.org/bsci/hcol/) and let us know how you like
     the new look.

SUMMARY OF SPECIMEN CATALOGING AT NYBG AND CURRENT CATALOG CONTENTS:

The geographical emphasis of acquisitions for the Herbarium has always
been on the flora and mycota of the New World. For this reason, our
emphasis has been on cataloging NYBG New World collections,
specifically those relating directly to past and current NYBG
research projects, as well as national and international projects
where access to data from our collections will have significant
impact. Below is a list of the projects that are available in the
catalog. For each project listed, we provide a brief summary of the
project, links to lists of taxa currently available, as well as a
button linked to a blank search page that allows the user to specify
     their own search criteria.
