Denver Museum of Natural History


The Denver Museum of Natural History seeks applications for the position =
of Department Head and Curator in the Department of Zoology.   The =
Department has collections in ornithology, mammalogy, and entomology and =
one curator in each specialization.   Major strengths are in a 60,000 =
specimen global bird collection and 10,000 mammals from North America and =
Botswana. =20
Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of collections-based research =
in one of these areas of specialization.   Scientists whose research =
program also includes a field component are particularly encouraged to =
apply.   Expertise on the ecosystems of the Great Plains and Rocky =
Mountains highly desirable.   Experience in project management, grant =
writing and work in informal science education must be demonstrated.   The =
successful candidate should desire to interact with the public and the =
media about their area of specialization.   Ph.D. in zoology or a related =
field is required.   The primary responsibilities of the successful =
candidate are participation in leadership of the Collections and Research =
Division, management of the Zoology Department, and research and educationa=
l programming in area of specialization.   Salary range competitive and =
