Would be interested to hear from any entomologists who might have
an opinion on whether the genus Eoses (type of Family Eosetidae) of the
Triassic is actually a primitive lepidopteran (moth) as claimed in the
original description. This claim has been challenged, but are there any
ideas on what Eoses actually is, if not a moth. I wanted to see what
Carpenter might have said about Eoses in Treatise on Invertebrate
Paleontology (Part R; 1992), but our Unversity's copy is not available
to me at the present time.
Thanks, Ken Kinman
