Strategies to increase population sizes of threatened Caladenia
species (Orchidaceae) in natural habitats in Victoria

RMIT University, with the Biodiversity Program (Dept of Natural
Resources & Environment) and the Royal Botanic Gardens
Melbourne, is pleased to offer a Ph.D. scholarship for research
aimed at developing effective techniques to increase population
sizes of endangered orchids. The project will determine
optimal environmental and biological conditions (soil,
propagule, mycorrhiza, placement and after-care) in
the field. Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in
plant sciences or horticulture, an enthusiasm for conservation
and a current driver's licence. Further details are available from
