Hi,
You can use either xerox-printed or laser-printed labels in 70% EtOH
indefinitely. Do not use the 20 lb paper - use 40 lb or heavier. I have
been using a Hewlett-Packard III for 8 years, and was using xerox before
that. All labels still perfect.
I suggest the heavier paper cuz if you use the lighter paper, the paper
will, in time and with several in-and-out-of-the-vial runs, break down.
The label will still be OK, but the paper on which it is written will
fall apart.
As a point of interest, labels I wrote by a Smith-Corona typewriter back
in the mid- to late 60s, and which were photocopied by a xerox machine (I
think it was a 900), are still OK.
