Dear Dr. Rickson,
When I said that the labels were washed in alcohol, is implicit that they
were washed prior to be glued on the surface of the slide, cause I know
that the slides are not washed after this process.
My question is related to the longevity of this material. Our Collection
have slides prepared in the 19Th century, with India ink, that remains in a
perfect condition.
Believe it or not the labels printed in glossy paper (adesive, marble)
withstand alcohol and xylene (this is only a hard test, not a routine), and
remains in a good condition, being glued in the slides after this.
Sincerely,
