Labels in alcool

          My experience is with alcohol specimens sent to me for
          identification. Vials with laser labels have little piles of
          black particles at the bottom of the vial and sticking to
          the specimens.  Sometimes I can just make out the labels if
          there is enough of the print left on the paper!

          I am impressed that alcohol labels more than 100 years old
          printed with a pencil are still clear, and pencil is my
          choice--quick, erasable when making a mistake, etc., but
          then these are just preliminary labels sent on to museums
          for complete labeling.
