Irian Jaya

Dear Taxacomers,

WWF - Indonesia is undertaking, for Irian Jaya, a strategic planning process
for the next few years.  One aspect we are looking at in detail is what
scientific resources are available in-house, and what can only be achieved
through partnerships.

As an exploratory task, WWF - Indonesia is interested in finding out which
taxonomic institutions, particularly those with active collection programs
in SE Asia, would be interested in collaborative partnerships with this
organization.  Our goal would be to beef up field collecting and rapid
inventory for Irian Jaya with an aim to using good taxonomic information as
a basis for sound conservation decisions.
