ASSISTANT CURATOR OF ICHTHYOLOGY

        The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks an Assistant Curator
to direct its research and collections program in fishes.  The museum has a
major fish collection that is international in scope (see
http://www.nhm.org/lacmnh).  The museum seeks
an individual who will develop a strong collection-based research program in
phylogenetic systematics using morphological and/or molecular data sets.
Requirements: Ph.D. in biology with a strong research orientation and broad
expertise in the biology of extant fishes.  The successful candidate will be
expected to establish a field program, contribute to the museum's public
programs (education and exhibits), and become successful in obtaining grants
to assist in the support of their research and the museum's fish collection.
Post-doctoral and museum experience desirable.  Applicants should send a
